Daisy Chains

It’s important to keep your grief moving and it’s important to find meaning.

Daisy Chains emerged out of my mala making practice, which emerged from a love of the ritual of a rosary, which I grew up around. The practice of saying a prayer, saying the name of a loved one, repeating a word, or just feeling the bead pass between your fingers is both peaceful and grounding.

Daisy chains help me keep my own grief moving, and are a place where I find meaning and comfort. A daisy chain feels like a balm which softens my rough spots during tough moments and challenging times. They might do that for you too, or for someone you love.

FAQs

What is a daisy chain?

A daisy chain is a style of necklace in which beads are strung in a way that creates flowers. You might have sat in the grass as a kid stringing daisies together one by one into a loop and proudly wore it as either a necklace or a crown. Daisy Chains are often associated with childhood, free spiritedness, summertime, and peace.

is the daisy thanabotanical?

Yes! The daisy is thanabotanical. The daisy has been linked to the loss of children, infertility, miscarriage, stillbirth and pet loss, as well as to any loss of personal significance. For me, the daisy has been a good companion for Shadowlosses of all kinds.

How long have you been doing this?

I’ve done Daisy Drops two times a year since 2020. Drops are in June and November, and I typically sell out within 15 minutes each time.

How does Shipping work?

Daisy chains are shipped immediately via USPS. They ship from Los Angeles, California, USA.

International shipping is available to the UK, Canada, and (sometimes) Australia.

How should I take care of them?

Each daisy chain is made from Japanese Miyuki beads and Nymo thread. I would not recommend showering with your daisy chain on, or getting it wet. They can be worn and treated like any other important and special piece of jewelry.

IS THE PACKAGING NICE?

Your daisy chain comes well packaged! It includes a custom-made lilac archival box with a drawer you slide out by way of a lilac ribbon. Once open, inside you will find a lilac suede bag with side extensions and a snap closure (no drawstring!). I also have included a foam insert with cut marks for a necklace, earrings and ring. My intention is for the packaging to serve as a safe spot for your special things. My logo is embossed in gold one one side of the box, and is blind embossed on the suede bag your daisy chain comes inside of. You also receive information about the daisy chain in the package.

Are custom daisy chains available?

Not at this time, but thank you for asking! Daisy Chains are made available through periodic drops, and I provide notice on my Instagram account @imperi and through my email newsletter.

Do people give these as gifts?

Yes, and often enough people purchase these to honor a loss. Many of my clients have purchased them to give to a grieving friend or family member as a way of offering meaningful and tangible support. And of course, people have purchased these for themselves and their own losses.

I love hearing from my clients about where these daisy chains end up and why they connected with them!

do you support organizations through the daisy drops?

Yes. Proceeds from sales have supported:
• the installation of a public, thanabotanical garden at Historic Linden Grove Cemetery and Arboretum
• a toy drive for those affected by the tornadoes in Western Kentucky
• reproductive rights in Appalachia
